If the information I have is correct, there only 8 or 9 of the wheels in existence right now. I feel like a rock star to have one, and I’m excited to ride it at the Toyota US Open this Sunday. During wind tunnel testing, the Sub 9 disc actually generated negative drag or propulsion. more · 10.1.07 - I will be the guest speaker for Nation Honor Society induction at my old high school, Lac Qui Parle Valley. · 9.23.07 - 3:51:16 at Cancun 70.3 I battled it out with a great field in Cancun, including Simon Lessing, Richie Cunningham, Paul Ambrose, Luke McKenzie, Oscar Galindzes, and Chris Leigh. Four miles into the run, I broke away from the group. However, Oscar manage to chase me down. I finished second in a hard fought race. · 9.23.07 - Zipp recently merged with Sram, which surprising news in the industry. Zipp been my choice of wheel before since I started triathlon, and I hope the merger allows them to do even big and better things for the sport. more · 8.26.07 - On the Podium in Chicago I finish third at the Chicago Accenture Triathlon behind Greg Bennett and Craig Walton. This is a great result considering it’s a Life Time Fitness series race, which means the competition is talented and deep. · 8.19.07 - New Course Record at Pigman Half As normal for Palo, IA in August, the air was humid, which made for a more difficult run that competitors expected. I was happy to lower my old course record to 3:58:17. · 8.12.07 - 3:49:38 at 5430 Long Course Half in Boulder, CO. I set a course record with a 27.5 mph average bike speed. More · 7.22.07 - New Course Record at the Spirit of Racine Half - My parents made the 9 hr drive from Appleton, MN to Racine, WI, so the pressure was onto perform. I was happy with each leg of the race. I led coming out of the water and was excited to hold onto the lead until the finish. Unfortunately, Greg Bennett ran 30:59 for the 10k run. race report · 6.25.07 — I’m back from the city of brotherly love - Philadelphia. I was happy to finish on the podium behind Craig Alexander and Doug Friman. Race number 10 is in the books, only 16 to go. · 6.10.07 — I’m is on a roll. I managed to ride away from the field and increase my lead on the run to beat a solid international pro field. Marino Vanhoenacker, Jonas Colting, Petr Vabrousek, Stephen Bayliss, Nathan Korteum, and more were there and ready to race. - more · 4.18.07 — An 18-wheeler pulled out in front of David on HWY 13 in St Paul. The tractor tailor failed to yield and made a right hand turn, causing David to crash, The crash resulted in a sizable laceration on his right knee and a fractured left wrist. The bike is okay. Pictures · 3.17.07 — Gear West and DKT are wind tunnel testing at MIT - click here · 2.25.07 — From Feb 25 to Mar 9, DKT will be serving his country as an Officer in US Navy in NY. David is still attached to the M14 unit of the Navy Reserve. This will make preparation for California 70.3 difficult, but he’ll do his best. · 2.14.07 — David flew back from a 7 day training trip in Tucson, Arizona. The temperature change was quite drastic, 75 deg F in Tucson and 0 deg F in St Paul, MN. Checkout his road notes for pictures and the whole story. · 1.12.07 — Winter has arrived in St. Paul, MN. My run outside today was a reminder that we’re still in the dead of winter. The below 0 wind chill produced a nice display of frozen snot on my facial hair and non-functioning fingers and toes. · 1.3.07 — In February David plans to train at the altitudes of Tucson, AZ (3600 ft. at the airport & over 9000 ft atop Mt. Lemmon minutes from downtown). · 12.25.06 — My brother and I unwrapped a XBOX this Christmas Day, which is probably good for my competition. · 12.22.06 — Gear West is making a trip to MIT in March to do wind tunnel testing. Kevin, Hannah, and David will be testing cycling product and rider position. · 12.10.06 — The California 70.3 race will most likely be my opening race for 2007. |
